HOLIDAY KICK-OFF PARTY HELD AT NEW PUBLIX GREENWISE MARKET
11/14/2007
Yesterday, November 13, 2007, the all-new Publix Greenwise Market in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida held its first annual Holiday Happenings party for the local public.
The 39,000 square foot supermarket, uniquely “green” in everything from its selection of organic as well as traditional retail food items to the energy-friendly construction of the building itself, hosted the gala affair from 5:00-8:00 p.m., during regular business hours. Not ones to miss a good party, repesentatives from SuperMarketGreenNews.com were on the scene to cover the event amid throngs of patrons.
Far from being a standard “cookie-cutter” retail establishment, the store was attentively adorned from front to rear with Thanksgiving, Christmas and Chanukah decorations alike to pay homage to the diverse cultures residing together in Palm Beach County. Patrons, as they either shopped
or browsed, were literally able to enjoy a complete dinner as they walked around the store, sampling free goods prepared by store staff as well as vendors. Hot roast turkey and roast beef, sans antibiotics, as well as all-natural cheeses, delectable pastries, fresh vegetables with low-fat dips, healthy sandwich wraps and even egg nog and organically-fermented wines were free of charge, available for the taking in tantalizing sample sizes.
Entertainment for the evening was pleasantly provided by the auspicious school band of Seminole Ridge High School of Loxahatchee, FL. Planted on the second floor of the über-supermarket, amid comfortable chairs and circular tables where shoppers could sit to relax and eat their bounty with ease, the talented teens regaled the audience with upbeat seasonal tunes to remind us all that, astonishingly, Christmas is…next month!
For the very young (as well as the young-at-heart), a tuxedoed, sequin-bedecked magician entertained onlookers at the front of the store with his juggling, card tricks and other slight-of-hand mastery while a face painting clown transformed small children into elves, red-nosed reindeer and glittery fairies with her artistic talent.
SMGN is pleased to thank Publix Greenwise Market for a most-enjoyable, family-friendly evening filled with holiday cheer and goodwill. We continue to support you in your aggressive efforts to raise health- and energy-consciousness in our local community.
